Sookmyung University

I belong to a mailing list, and forgot how I got on it, that periodically mails out job openings within Korea. Most of these positions are teaching at Universities and should be much better than the typical institute job. I have decided to share this information but, I make no claims about credibility or desirability of each position, caveat emptor.


Positions available: Teacher Trainer (courses: SLA or Cross-cultural communication) in the SMU-TESOL program at Sookmyung Women’s University, Seoul, Korea

Minimum Qualifications: The desired candidate should hold a Master’s degree in TESOL (TESL) with a few years’ teaching experience in a CBI environment.
Job description: 16 hours per week (One content course:12 hours & English course: 4 hours), starting August 1st, 2005

Program information:
SMU-TESOL is the first and best graduate-level TESOL certification program in Korea, which was developed in 1997, in cooperation with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. It is a proficiency-oriented, content-based, EFL teacher training program.

Salary and benefits: Top salary in Korea. Housing support, 2 months paid vacation, health insurance, shared office (2 teachers per office) in a brand-new building, computer, and others
